Rebecca Lynn Connell Anderson, 60 died Wednesday, May 14, 2014. There will be a visitation service at Boone Funeral Home, Bossier City, LA on Friday, May 16 from 5 to 7 pm. She will be laid to rest with family in Olney, Texas.
She was born November 23, 1953 in Wichita, KS to Wayne Lee and Bettie Hall Connell. The family moved to Bossier city, LA when she was six and she attended Bossier schools, graduating from BHS, Class of 1971.
She moved to League City, TX where she was a youth director, children's choir director, a singer in the contemporary service band, Sunday school teacher and Mother's Day out instructor at St. Christopher Episcopal Church in League City, TX. She also pioneered the "Bread Ministry", delivering bread from local grocery stores to less fortunate people in the community. She was a member of the Daughters of the King and the healing prayer order of St. Luke.
She had a strong faith in God and since returning to Bossier has been attending Waller Baptist Church where she was baptized as a child. She loved books and was an avid reader, an expert seamstress, talented and creative in many ways.
She was preceded in death by her father Wayne Lee Connell, sister Brenda Kay Connell Hahn, grandparents Thomas Russell and Nettie Smith Hall.
She is survived by two daughters, Shelly Diane Wiard and husband Dallas, Brooke Lee Anderson, fiancée, Justin Myers, son, Ronald Craig Anderson, Jr., mother, Bettie Connell, brother, Steven Connell and wife Kathy; sisters, Diane Duncan & husband John, Bettie Gail Lessmann, Tammy Lee Wise; and many nieces and nephews, also two special little girls "Aubrey and Layla" who loved her dearly.
