On Friday, October 4, 2019, Nathan Tarr loving husband and father of three, passed away at the age of 33 from a motor vehicle accident.
Nathan was born December 31, 1985 at Whiteman Air Force Base in Johnson County Missouri to Paul and Sheryl Tarr. Nathan holds the number two slot in a field of five brothers. He grew up in an Air Force Family and they landed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana for their last assignment. Nathan graduated from Northwood High School, Shreveport, Louisiana in 2004. He also attended Louisiana Technical College in 2008. On November 11, 2011, he married the love of his life Amanda Bodin. They brought three beautiful girls into the Tarr fold, Riley, Mikaela, and Iris.
If you had to describe Nathan Tarr it could be summed up in two words:
Wildly Passionate
When Nathan was interested in something; knives, metal hardness levels, music, guitars, politics, tools, bush-craft, etc. he would describe it to you on the molecular level and reinforce it with a few hours of concrete conversation that would leave the average listener wondering if they could buy something before they got to old to hear anymore. He loved to debate most any subject with that same wild passion. When they handed out the Gift of Gab, he was in the top 10 for sure. Hardly a person who knew him ever forgot his character. He loved to play his guitars and was always looking for that next great guitar to tickle. Of all the Tarr boys he sported the largest selection of hair styles and beards without a doubt. Nathan was raised in a Christian home and was a Believer. He was not a fan of organized denominational religion so much, but he studied the Bible and always had some comments to share when the topic turned biblical in nature. He will be cherished by his wife, girls and his family. A void has been left that will be very difficult to fill.
Nathan was preceded in death by his grandparents; John Tarr of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, James Clendening and Mary Jerkins of Wasilla, Alaska, and a brother or sister that was miscarried which he has now had the pleasure of meeting in Heaven. He is survived by his wife (Mandy), his three girls, Riley, Mikaela, and Iris, his Grandmother Donna Tarr, parents Paul and Sheryl, his brothers, Caleb, Brent, Joseph, and Stephen, and several nieces and nephews.
As Nathan would almost always say as he was departing,
"Peace Out!"
A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Oct 19,2019 at Calvary Chapel located at 2115 Line Avenue in Shreveport, Louisiana.
