Mary Fanger Demmon

Mary Fanger Demmon was born December 25, 1931 in Sully County, South Dakota to George and Josephine Burger Fanger. Mary went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 10, 2021, with her family by her side. Mary was the oldest of five children. She was raised on a farm and learned strong family values and hard work. She met the love of her life in her freshman year of high school. After graduating from high school, the high school sweethearts married and began their new life together. As her family grew, she dedicated her time sending each family member cards on their birthday, anniversary, and any special occasion. Preceding Mary in death are her parents, George and Josephine Fanger; son, Monte Demmon; and sister, Lois Alumbaugh. Left to cherish many memories are husband of 70 years, Richard Demmon, Sr; siblings, Avis Demmon and the late Douglas, Joseph Fanger and the late Shirley, and Earl Fanger and wife Mary; children, Fern Lee and husband Jerry, Reba Demmon, Lynn Reynolds and husband Michael, Richard Demmon, Jr. and wife Elisa “Joany”, Mary Smith and husband Drew, Dona Hilman, and Jesse Demmon; daughter-in-law, Melinda Demmon; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, countless great-great grandchildren, and many other family members and friends. The family will receive family and friends between 10:00 AM and 12:00 Noon, Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend. She touched so many during her life with her sweet spirit. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege and honor of knowing her.
