Mrs. Mary Alice Boggs DeHart met her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 24, 2005, at her home. She was born on May 18, 1925, in Olive Hill, KY.
Mrs. DeHart was a loving mother and homemaker who was very close to the Lord and took great care in bringing up her five children believing in Jesus Christ. She stood strong to her beliefs and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Shreveport. Mrs. DeHart worked several different jobs during her life including a factory during WWII, an ice cream parlor that she loved, and as a soda fountain worker in a pharmacy where she met her loving husband of 50+ years. She will be sadly missed and remembered by all as a loving, gentle woman.
Her husband, Jack D. DeHart preceded her in death, as well as her parents: William and Maude Boggs, two sisters, and one brother. Surviving her are children and their spouses: Ida and William Rodriguez, William Douglas DeHart, Jennifer and Ronald Wells, Vera and Gene Martin, Lucy and Robert Laughlin; grandchildren: Brandon, Sarah, Andrea, Lynn, James, Jack, Toni, Tina, Angie; great grandchildren: Ryan, Cole, Emily, Claire, Jack, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Payne, Dr. Warner, Willis-Knighton Bossier ER and ICU Depts. Bossier Parish EMS, and the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Dept.
The family suggests that memorials be made in memory of Mary DeHart to the Alzheimer's Association.
Their will be a private family service planned at a later date.
God hath not promised skies always blue, flower-strewn pathways all our lives through; God hath not promised sun without rain, joy without sorrow, peace without pain.
But God hath promised strength for the day, rest for the labor, light for the way, grace for the trials, help from above, unfailing sympathy, undying love.
