A memorial service for Martha Ann Hatcher Cloud (Marty) will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 2 at St. John?s Episcopal Church, Minden, with the Rev. William R. Bryant officiating and the Rev. Robert Dandridge preaching. A reception will be held immediately following the service in the parish hall of the church. All are invited. Mrs. Cloud was born in Shreveport, LA and died in the Minden Medical Center following a brief illness. She had been a resident of Minden for most of her life. A graduate of St. Vincent?s Academy, she attended LA Tech where she majored in music, met, and then married her husband of 58 years. She was involved in many things over the years but singing was a recurrent theme. Her interests always included children, music, her church, feeding people, community service and those in need. Over the years, she was involved with Scouting, the Jr. Service League, Hospice, the Bethel Bible course, St. Jude?s, Kairos Outside, and Habitat for Humanity/Fuller Center for Housing. In recent years she continued to sing in her church choir, joined the Minden Community Chorus, participated in Fuller Housing ?builds?, Grace House and St. Luke?s Medicial Ministry. Preceding her in death were her parents Martha White Hatcher and Earl Dalton (Ed) Hatcher. She is survived by her husband Duane; three daughters, Kathy Turner and her husband, Randy; Karen McDonald and her husband, Keith; Kristin Ponder and her husband, Jerry; and one son, Richard Cloud and his wife Irene; fourteen grandchildren and two dozen great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Minden Medical Center and Drs. Bolger, Jerius and Pittman for the great care given to Marty during her stay there. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to Fuller Center of Webster, P.O. Box 155, Springhill, LA 71075 or to a charity of their choice.
