Marion Lindquist Henry

d. January 27, 2014

Marion Lindquist Henry was born June 13, 1919 in Easthampton, CT. After graduating from high school she went on to the Hart School of Music. She was a musician who played a pipe organ and piano in her Lutheran church until she married Thomas A. Henry in 1943. They were married 58 years and had four daughters: Nancy Light [James] of Shreveport, LA; Lorna Domke [Henry] of New Bloomfield, MO: Andrea Osborne of Asheville, NC; and Susan Eddy [Robert] of Agoura, CA. She had six grandchildren: Andrew Eddy [Lisa], James Eddy, Jeff Osborne [April], Lea Vines [Jason], Jordan Light, Kiersten Prochnow [Luke]; four great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. Marion was an avid bridge player, knitter, seamstress and loved to read. She and her husband lived in West Springfield, MA; Pottstown, PA; Longmeadow, MA; and Wheaton, IL where she became a licensed realtor. They retired to Sarasota, FL in 1978. When her husband became ill, they moved to Shreveport to live near their youngest daughter. They were active members of North Highlands Methodist Church until his death in 2002. She moved into Montclair Parc Assisted Living in 2003 where she was treated with kindness and dignity. The family would like to give a special thanks to Ella Allums and the other staff members who cared so lovingly for our precious Mom. A family service will be held in Springfield, MA at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or to the North Highlands United Methodist Church, 835 Poleman Road, Shreveport, LA 71107.
