Joan Marlys Husby Myers, 83, of Bossier City, passed away on December 12, 2015, in Shreveport, LA. The family has chosen a private service with Father Daigle of St John Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. Joan was born in Menomonie, WI to Earl and Mary Husby on April 5, 1932. After high school, Joan married Bernard (Bud) Myers on September 21, 1954 in Durand, WI. Joan worked in the hospitality industry during Bud's years of military service. They started their own business after Bud retired from the Air Force. Joan enjoyed arts and crafts, traveling, spending time at the VFW Post with friends, and cooking. Her pride and joy were her 4 granddaughters and her great-granddaughter. Joan is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Bud Myers, her parents, Earl and Mary Husby, her brother William Husby, and her sisters, Jean Nelson, Carole Stratton and Maryruth Dahms. Left to cherish her memory are her 3 daughters, Susan Bayliss and husband Lane, Denise Myers and husband Don Norris, and Sandi Hardwick and husband Larry; 4 granddaughters, Stephanie, Tracie, Amy, Laura and her husband Joshua; great-granddaughter, Jordan; her sister Kathie Skillings; her 5 brothers, Ron Husby, Vaughn Husby, Jim Husby, John Husby, and Mick Husby; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Carolyn Loyd for her loving support and care of the family. Joan will be missed by her family and friends.
