Janelle passed away peacefully on July 22, 2022 at the
age of 87.
She was born January 10, 1935 in Shreveport, LA to
Victoria and John Morell. She was a member of the Fair
Park Class of 1953 and enjoyed visiting with friends at
many class reunions over the years
.
Janelle was talented and adventurous in many aspects of
her life. She was a master of sewing and quilting. She
was a life long student. Janelle was always eager to learn
new things. She always loved school, so much so that
she went to back to school in her 50’s, to become a
certified surgical technologist. She loved her time in the
operating room and taking care of her patients.
Janelle was an avid reader, expert gardener and loved to
travel. Over the years, she made countless memories
traveling with family and friends. Not a day went by
where Janelle didn't talk about how much her family
and friends meant to her. Her dog, Ladybug, also
brought her many snuggles and much joy! She was a
strong woman and quick to tell you what she thought.
She was an amazing mother, grandmother and great-
grandmother. Janelle loved fiercely and shared many
valuable life lessons to those that would listen. She was
always quick to say “now let’s think positive and look on
the bright side.”
Left to cherish her memory are her children, David
Hendrix, Michael Hendrix and Cheryl Hendrix Wolf; her
sister, Mary Ann Ross; her grandchildren, Chelsea
Hendrix, Christopher Hendrix, Kathryn Galvin, Kera
Hendrix Youngblood, Kimala Hendrix Davis; her greatgrandchildren,
Anna Davis, Chandler Davis, Emma Davis; Sarah Hendrix; Sydney Davis,
Wylan French; many nieces and nephews.
Janelle was preceded in death by her parents, her
brothers John "Bro" Morell Sr., Sidney "Sid" Morell and
her son, Bernie Hendrix.
Janelle will greatly missed by all who knew and loved
her.
Until we meet again…
