Benton, LA - Heather Dawn Holman Brumfield of Benton, LA passed away on June 30, 2015 in Shreveport, after a valiant battle with cancer. A memorial service to honor Heather's life will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 1814 Benton Rd, Bossier City on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 1:00 PM. Officiating the service will be Bro. Ricky Banks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Garvis L. Holman II, John C. Holman, Dustin Clotiaux, Brandon Emerson, Garrett Holman, Ethan Emerson, Conner Clotiaux, and Dylan Pool.
Heather was born in Bossier City, LA to her parents Garvis and Linda on September 22, 1973. She was a resident of Benton, LA where she shared her life with her husband and children. She was wed to her husband, Michael Brumfield on May 21, 1994. Heather became a beautiful and loving mother to her daughter, Katie and her son, Kaleb. Her husband and children will always remember her as a wonderful and loving wife and mother. Heather's strength and will were made evident in her battle with cancer. She fought hard to remain with her husband, children, family, and friends.
She dedicated her life to her God Jehovah by means of water baptism on June 27, 1992. The South Bossier Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses is where, through a study of God's Word, the Bible, she learned about the resurrection hope which gives mankind the opportunity to live in a paradise earth forever. Heather loved sharing that hope with others. Her outgoing personality, love of giving, and sense of humor made her a friend too many. This was clearly seen through all the support given by family and friends. Heather will truly and genuinely be missed.
Heather was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Elgin and Lucille Holman; maternal grandparents, Robert Prentiss and Cora Lee Burns; brother, Prentiss Burns Chandler. She is survived by her husband of twenty-one years, Michael Shane Brumfield; daughter, Katie Leeanne Brumfield; son, Kaleb Michael Brumfield; parents Garvis Holman and Linda Burns; siblings, Iva Denise Austin, Joey Emerson, Garvis Holman II, John Coburn Holman; seven nephews and five nieces.
The family would like to thank all of the friends, caregivers, and extended family for their support and prayers.
