Burnie Lee Johnson

BURNIE LEE “LYNN/FLOOK/BJ” JOHNSON, son of the late J.D. Johnson and Ruth Jones Johnson, was born November 28, 1954 in Pelican, Louisiana. Burnie attended Booker T Washington High School where he was known for his skills in basketball. Burnie resided at the Cedar Hills Senior Apartments for the last years of his life where he was genuinely cared for by his fellow residents and office staff. He enjoyed taking morning walks, playing dominoes, cooking, attending church services on site and watching westerns. Burnie departed his earthly life for eternal rest on July 15, 2021. In addition to his parents, Burnie was proceeded in death by his sisters Northann & Maurice Johnson and Lorraine Walpool. He leaves to cherish his memories: Daughters – Keitha, Berneisa & Shaneka Vanzant; Grandchildren – Fajean Smith, Dorian, Omarion & Cameron Vanzant, Heaven & Serenity Lockridge, Decoryeon, Kingston, Cody & Ohnesty Wilson; Sisters – Losie Barr, Alvater Lane (Karl) and Bertie Johnson (Cleveland); Niece & Nephews – Curtis (Kitty), Robert & Billy Walpool, Craig Jones(Angela),Felicia & La Derrick Brazil (Jodi), Kendrick & Jamarius Johnson and a host of cousin. A Celebration of Burnie's life will be held on Saturday, July 24th at Boone Funeral Home, Bossier City, Louisiana. Family visitation will be @ 11AM and the funeral service will begin at 12PM.
