Bossier City--A Mass of Christian Burial for Bobby J. Burnett, 72, will be held Monday, June 15, 2009 at 10:00am at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Msgr. Carson LaCaze officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Boone Funeral Home. Mr. Burnett lost his battle with cancer on June 8, 2009. He was born in Winnfield, LA on August 12, 1936 to Benjamin P. ?Doc? and Margery Walthall Burnett. Bobby served his country in the U. S. Air Force. Upon his discharge, he entered into the electrical contracting business with his father where he worked for 40 years. In later years, he was employed by the City of Shreveport as Chief Electrical Inspector and Building Permits Inspector. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Grace; his parents; and brother, Ben. Left to cherish his memory are sisters-in-law, Paula Tinsley and Eileen Ringel of Bossier City; nieces, Rebecca Washam of Boynton Beach, FL and Dionne Kyzar of Houston, TX; nephew, Scott Burnett of Minnesota; special friend, Rosalie Pitts, and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Mike Sepulvado, Randy Magness, Brad Johnson, Rod Haydel, Cliff Haydel, and Kelly Haydel. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Al Ryan and the City of Shreveport Permits Inspectors. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Hospice of Shreveport/Bossier and the NW LA War Veterans Home for their tender care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude?s Childrens Research Hospital or charity of the donor?s choice.
