Billy Pete Venetis Sr., 72, of Benton, Louisiana passed away November 30th after a lengthy illness. Billy was a United States Marine veteran serving in Vietnam. Loving husband of 49 years to the love of his life Mona, and amazing father to his 3 children Elizabeth, Billy Jr, and Jessica and a loving Pop to all 6 of his grandchildren. Billy loved hunting and fishing, the great outdoors, and the mountains. He enjoyed taking trips with his wife in their big RV camper. He liked telling stories and joking around. He could build anything as long as he had lots and lots of screws! He loved to watch hunting shows and would whisper talk to you as he watched, he also enjoyed a good western and to this day we always say he was born in the wrong time and should have been a cowboy. He made a presence every where he went. He was a friend to many. He was the BBQ master! He had the bluest eyes and they just sparkled when he smiled. If we ever needed to learn something he would just say “Stick with me kid and I’ll teach you all you need to know”
He will live on through his children and grandchildren.
Billy is survived by his wife Mona, his daughter Elizabeth Provine and husband Mike of Quincy, IL, son Billy Venetis Jr and wife Carrie of Bossier City, LA daughter Jessica Venetis of Shreveport, LA and his grandchildren Brennen, Kaitlynn, Lauren, Lucas, Mackenzie, and Wyatt. Billy is also survived by his brother Steve Venetis and wife Pat of Lafayette, LA
