Avril Diane Bennett

Avril Diane Bennett passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 at the age of seventy-four. Known for her strong character and poker prowess, Avril is survived by her spouse of fifty years, William Aaron Bennett; her son and daughter-in-law: William Clifford Bennett and Caren Lococo Bennett; her grandchildren: Hayden Nathaniel Bennett and Rebecca Graves Bennett, Hayley Nicole Grandstrom and Caleb Andrew Grandstom (Gavin), and Hannah Noelle Bennett; and her great-grandchildren, Harrison Nathaniel Bennett, Emerson Grace Bennett, and Amelia Jane Bennett; her brother ‘Cliffy’ Hayden and his wife Shirley, their children, and many great- and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as, a myriad of beloved extended family and friends both at home and abroad. Born in Camborne-Redruth, Cornwall, United Kingdom, to Clifford George Hayden of Tilty and Elizabeth Lucie Davis Hayden of Tynewydd, South Wales. Avril embraced her American citizenship, but never lost her accent or her love of her home country. She was never without the confidence to live life to the fullest and bring others along for the ride. A good woman, friend, mother, grandmother and wife she leaves a legacy of love and logic, wit and realism, selflessness and strength. She will be greatly missed. Memorial will be held at the family home Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 2-4 pm. Ever the pragmatist Avril requested that in lieu of flowers, please donate to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Christus Hospice and Palliative Care, or the charity of your choice.
