James Fredrick Stewart, Sr. was born February 1, 1950 in Jonesboro, LA and passed from this life into eternity September 15, 2017 at his home in Bossier City, La surrounded by his family, whom he dearly loved. Bro. Fred (Butter Bread) as he was affectionately known by all who knew him was active in ministry for 49 years. He served the Lord as Missionary/Pastor in the states of Louisiana, Texas and Illinois. Bro. Fred was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his daughter Kristi Michelle Stewart, father Clyde Stewart, maternal grandparents James Robert and Nelvan Kirkham, paternal grandparents Basil Stewart and Ida Green, three sisters Patricia Rodriquez, Susie Danet and Vicki Stewart. Bro. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Barbara Jean Stewart, 2 sons Michael W. Stewart and wife Malissa of Hughes Springs, TX and James F. Stewart Jr. and his wife Shannon of Coushatta, LA. 8 grandchildren, James Ross Stewart and wife Mercedes, Matthew Oien Stewart and wife Chelsea, Maranda Blake Stewart, Malynda Danyelle Murry and husband Michael, Makenzie Nadyne Stewart, Madyson Nicole Stewart, Megan Renee Stewart and Gavin Michael Stewart. 5 great-grand children, Jaden Bo, Jalen David, Sophie Rene' and James Lane Ross Stewart and Addilyn Jean Murry. He is also survived by his mother James Marvine Newman, sisters Ann Stewart, Darlene Martin and Laura Rhoades and husband Jason. He is also survived by and very special brother in law John Danet of Prattville Alabama (but we will over look and forgive that part) along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts and a great host of brothers and sisters in Christ. An avid hunter, houndsman and fisherman, he left an impression on everyone that he met. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Oh and lest we forget, he will be dearly missed by his favorite dog "TAZ" (AKA "That's Your Brother"). In lieu of flowers please make donations in honor of Bro. Fred Stewart to Stockwell Road Missionary Baptist Church at 2201 Stockwell Road, Bossier City, LA 71111. Stockwell Road MBC played a vital role in dad's life and ministry.
